Tia ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Data Protection Notice explains how we collect, use, store, and disclose your personal data when you use our website, app, and services. Tia operates a peer-to-peer fashion rental marketplace via our mobile app and website www.clubtia.com. As a data controller, we determine how and why your personal data is processed.
For payment transactions, we use Stripe, which is an independent data controller for payment processing activities.
When you visit the website or app, we collect certain information about your device, your interaction with the website or app, and information necessary to process your transactions. We may also collect additional information if you contact us for customer support. In this Data Protection Notice, we refer to any information that can uniquely identify an individual (including the information below) as “Personal Information”. When you create an account with us, we will collect information including your name, email address, contact details, delivery address, password, bank details, payment details and in some cases, ID , so that we can verify your identity. We collect these details to fulfill our contractual obligations to you. We may also collect your Instagram handle, location, photo and bio information if you choose to provide to us with this information based on our legitimate interest of creating engaging profiles to encourage a sense of community and greater interaction between peers.
When you rent an item, we will collect your order information to fulfill our contractual obligations. This will include payment details (via Stripe) and address.
When you provide us with a story or testimonial to publish on our app or website we will collect your name, story or testimonial, photo and social media handle. We will only publish your personal data with your consent.
In some circumstances we may carefully anonymise your personal data so that it can no longer be associated with you, and we may use this anonymised information indefinitely without notifying you. We rely on our legitimate interest to improve and commercialize our business to create this anonymised data.
When you contact us with general queries, we will usually collect your name, contact details and information relating to your query, because it is in our legitimate interest to make sure we can properly respond to your query.
When we send you our news and marketing updates because you have opted-in to receive them, we rely on your consent to contact you. You can unsubscribe from our updates at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing hello@clubtia.com.
When you attend one of our events (whether in person or online), we will usually collect your name and email address. We collect this information because it is in our legitimate interest to know who is attending our events.
When you connect with us on social media including on Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn we will collect your social media handle, name and email address under our legitimate interest to engage with you.
When you consent, we collect information about how you use our website. We use this information to improve our website and to better understand how people use it. To continue to provide our services to you in the event our business is sold. In order to ensure we can continue to provide our services to you by a prospective buyer, we may process your personal data where we have a legitimate interest to do so. If you object to our use of your personal data in this way, the buyer of our business may not be able to provide services to you.
The Site and Platform is not intended for individuals under the age of eighteen. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you are the parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal data, please contact us at hello@clubtia.com for deletion.
When you place an order through the Site, we will retain your Personal Information for our records. Financial transactions will be retained for 7 years in keeping with financial practices. Order information will be retained for up to two years after you close your account with us, in case we need to respond to any follow-up legal claims.
